Claim settled 14 years after accident

£2.5m compensation has been awarded for twin, Sam Boreham, who was only eight years old when involved in a car accident in 1998 that caused him severe brain injury, which affected his life significantly.

As twin brothers, Sam and Ben Boreham were on their way to a Manchester United football game, while travelling on the M1 motorway, the car they were in, crashed into a stationary vehicle.

Before seeking compensation from the insurance company of the car driver, Sam’s legal team waited for him to reach adulthood. They wanted to assess fully the resulting injuries and disabilities that the accident had caused to his brain. The diagnosis was easier to ascertain through his being a twin.

The claim accordingly has been settled at the High Court in London recently, some fourteen years after the accident occurred.
