Cyclist Badly Injured Following a Road Crash

A 42 year old cyclist from Kirton-in-Lindsey suffered serious head injuries after getting involved in a road accident.

The accident took place at Market Rasen on 12 February when the man was riding with a group of other cyclists.

Police believe that the cause of the accident could have been a pothole. An investigation into the accident is being carried out.

At the time of the accident, the victim was wearing a helmet.

He was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary following the accident where he underwent surgery.

The Lincolnshire Police spokesperson stated that an investigation into the cause of the accident is being carried.

According to Sergeant Ady Wootton, although the condition of the road is reasonable, there are certain aspects which he is not satisfied with.

The Lincolnshire police have spoken to the County Council regarding the condition of the road.   They had also reported about the pothole to the council which was then repaired.

The council is now assisting police in their investigation.
