M3 Minibus Crash Leaves Three People Seriously Injured

Two people remain in serious condition after a minibus crashed on the M3.

It is believed that a tyre blow out was the cause of the crash.

The minibus was carrying ten people when it crashed on the southbound carriageway at Old Basing.

Seven others which included two children suffered minor injuries.

According to the police, the people on the minibus were on a holiday and they were from Romania.  The vehicle had overturned as it crossed the carriageway and left the road.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Three people were taken to Southampton General Hospital after they sustained life threatening injuries.

A 22 year old man and a 63 year old woman still remain in serious condition.  The police said the 66 year old who was in critical condition earlier is no longer serious.

Other passengers were taken to a hospital in Basingstoke.

Emergency services attended the scene and the carriageway remained shut for more than 4 hours.
